Action For India

Action For India's mission is to help social innovators in India overcome barriers to scale and achieve greater impact at the Bottom of the Pyramid. AFI connects social innovators with impact investors, mentors, technology resources, government contacts and local partners. AFI is headquartered in New Delhi, India and has a chapter in Silicon Valley, California. Launched in 2012, AFI is inspired and guided by Sam Pitroda, Adviser to the Prime Minister of India and Chairman of India's National Innovation Council. AFI's financial supporters include Desh Deshpande, Adviser to US President Barack Obama & Founder of the Deshpande Foundation.

Centre for Innovations in Public Systems (CIPS)

The mission of CIPS is to help create a climate and nurture a culture for accelerating and diffusing innovation in public systems. CIPS is based at the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad. The Centre is governed through an advisory council, with representation from all states.
Objectives are to:

 • Identify, recognize and promote innovations in public systems in the area of management of people, process (cost and quality), systems (technology) and services,
 • Catalyze and trigger lateral learning for initiating action research projects, macro level changes and innovations in the policies and practices across states,
 • Provide a range of learning opportunities and services to various stakeholders for building capacity through training programmes, conferences, seminars, surveys, publications and development of a national catalogue/database of innovations in public systems for improving public services.
Facilitate sharing of international experiences and exposure to best practices in governance of public systems.

Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY)

The vision of "DeitY" is e-Development of India as the engine for transition into a developed nation and an empowered society. The mission is e-dDevelopment of India through multi pronged strategy of e-Infrastructure creation to facilitate and promote e-governance, promotion of Electronics & Information Technology-Iformation Technology Enabled Services (IT-ITeS) Industry, providing support for creation of Innovation / Research & Development (R&D), building Knowledge network and securing India’s cyber space. Objective are:
 • e-Government: Providing e-infrastructure for delivery of e-services.
 • e-Industry: Promotion of electronics hardware manufacturing and IT-ITeS industry.
 • e-Innovation / R & D: Providing Support for creation of Innovation Infrastructure in emerging areas of technology.
 • e-Education: Providing support for development of e-Skills and Knowledge network.
 • e-Security: Securing India's cyber space.
