Sameer has been instrumental in sowing the seed for Neurosynaptic and bringing it to its current state. Neurosynaptic today proudly stands as the largest rural e-healthcare and telemedicine platform spread across over a 1000 village centres in 28 districts, reaching close to 50 Mn population, and growing.
During 1999-2003, he has handled the position of Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer at DACS Software. Before that he was with Motorola India Electronics Ltd, where he managed projects in Software Tools and DSP applications. Sameer is an Ashoka Fellow. His primary work is in the Rural e-Healthcare domain. He has many achievements to his credit including Engineering Awards and Patents, and has many National and International Publications. He has been recognized with the Global Indus Technovator Award by MIT, Boston, for pioneering work in the area or Rural Telemedicine. The World Economic Forum of Switzerland has chosen Neurosynaptic Communications as “Technology Pioneer” for the ReMeDi™ technology under his leadership. Neurosynaptic has also been recognized as the fastest growing social enterprise in the year 2012-13 by the Action for India Forum, has been the runners’ up for the Social Entrepreneur of the Year, India – 2012 by the Schwab Foundation for its work in the rural healthcare, and the recipient of NASSCOM Social Innovation Honours – Jury’s Special Choice Award in 2014. He completed his Post Graduation with distinction from the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He graduated with top ranking in Electronics Engineering from Government College of Engineering, Amravati, Maharashtra.
