Svati Bhogle, an alumna of IIT Bombay, is the Hon. Secretary of TIDE, a not for profit society working at the interface of science and society. Her professional interest is in technology for development. She has carried out adaptive research in fuel efficient wood stoves for different applications which led to the development of enterprise models at the grassroots level for innovative sustainable technology. Her work for TIDE has been recognized internationally as best practices in energy access for the poor. In 2009, she promoted Sustaintech India Pvt. Ltd., a social enterprise aimed at rapid adoption of sustainable energy technologies. Her goal is to challenge the paradigm that clean development is not accessible to the poor. She is an Ashoka Fellow and a recipient of 'the Ashden Energy Champion' Award in 2008.
Mr Ramakrishna- Founder president of “Samagra Vikas” a not for profit organisation working on Environment protection, Alternate/renewable Energy and rural development since 1987. Samagra Vikas has been working with a network of over 400 NGO’s and Voluntary organisations across the country.
He has served on several committees on agriculture, forest, environment and energy set up the Government of India and Government of Karnataka. He is currently an Observer on ICRAF Steering committee on Bio fuels, Advisor to Central University of Karnataka, (CUK) Gulbarga – engaged in developing a green and sustainable campus for CUK. He has been a mentor and advisor to several institutions and entrepreneurs.
Santanu is founding CEO and MD at TalentSprint, a leading start-up on professional skill development and talent transformation, where he is responsible for overall strategy
and growth. Under his leadership, TalentSprint won six national and international awards in 2011-2013, and raised capital from the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Nexus Ventures.
From 2003-2008, Santanu worked at Virtusa Corporation as Senior Vice President for Global Delivery Operations, and Head of Indian Operations. From 1999-2003, Santanu worked in Boston as Chief Technology Officer of Viveca and Openpages, both venture-backed technology firms. He began his career in New York as a Research Scientist at the famed IBM T.J. Watson Research Centre. His technical work spans more than 20 international papers and 2 United States patents.
Santanu has a B.Tech. from IIT Madras and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where his academic performance in computer science earned him the prestigious Rackham Doctoral Fellowship, IBM Canada Fellowship,and LaCroute Fellowship.
He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), the elite global network of young CEOs, a Distinguished Fellow of IDRBT (set up by RBI) and Adjunct Professor at IIT-Hyderabad .His views and opinion pieces have appeared in the Economic Times, Business Standard, Hindu Business Line, Times of India, the Hindu, and BBC online.
SkillPro is a social venture focusing on placement linked skill training. SkillPro’s mission is to provide 1 million jobs through skilling. They have already skilled and put into jobs more than 48,000 youth through 50+ functional skill-training centers across 14 states in India. SkillPro is an NSDC partner, and helps government, corporates & CSR initiatives in
implementation of large scale skill training projects and provides staffing solutions to small and large scale enterprises.
Ananth Rao is also the Co-chair of CII National Skill Development Committee’s Government Advocacy task force.
In addition, Ananth Rao is on the Advisory board of other later stage companies, assisting with corporate strategy, execution planning and team building.
Ananth Rao is a proven entrepreneur with extensive background in general management, corporate strategy, product development, marketing & sales. Ananth was Founder of JP Mobile in the US, acquired by Good Technology, which was later acquired by Motorola in 2007. Over a span of 10 years at JP Mobile, he provided strategic direction, built customer and market traction, made 4 acquisitions, raised over $60M in multiple rounds, and grew the team primarily in the US and India. Following that he led efforts for JP Mobile’s acquisition and worked through the integration.
Ashwin is the founder/CEO of Vaatsalya Healthcare, an award winning social enterprise, focused on building a network of hospitals in Tier II and Tier III towns in India. While 70% of India's population live in semi-urban and rural areas, majority of the healthcare facilities are in Urban areas and not accessible to these families. Vaatsalya is bridging this gap by building primary and secondary care hospitals in semi-urban and rural areas. With ten hospitals in Karnataka and five in Andhra Pradesh, Vaatsalya is the largest hospital network of its kind in India. Recently AllWorld Network has ranked Vaatsalya at no. 5 in its list of 25 fast growing companies in India and Forbes Magazine has profiled Vaatsalya as one of the 5 hot startups in India to watch in 2011. Ashwin has a medical degree from Karnatak Medical College, Hubli and a Masters from University of Houston, Texas.
Chandrasekhar is the Founder & CEO of Forus Health, an innovation-driven technology enterprise that develops affordable technology solutions that can easily be used by a minimally trained technician, thereby making health service accessible and scalable. Forus flagship product 3nethra, a screening device for common eye problems like cataract, diabetic retina, refractive problems, corneal infections and glaucoma is already being field deployed in more than 40 locations pan India in the last 6 months. Its digital imaging and cloud based portal enables easy interface to Telemedicine, remote diagnostics/ work flows and easy access to historical data.
Prior to founding Forus Health, Chandrasekhar was the Director of Strategy & Software Partnerships at NXP (Philips) Semiconductors. KC has more than 23 years of experience in Business Strategy, Business Development, Product Management, Sales Management in leading Semiconductor and Software Companies. KC is an alumnus of BITS Pilani and IIM-C.
Ramya Venkataraman is Founder Director & CEO of a recently established social enterprise, Centre for Teacher Accreditation (CENTA). CENTA has the purpose of empowering teachers, by recognizing outstanding teachers and creating opportunities for them and their schools, through a high quality certification service. Prior to this, Ramya has been with McKinsey for 15+ years and Leader of McKinsey’s Education Practice in India for the last 5 years. Ramya recently received a ‘global entrepreneurship award’ in McKinsey for building the Firm’s education practice in India. She continues to be an Advisor to McKinsey. Ramya has driven several pioneering and landscape-shaping on-the- ground efforts in both school education and skills, and has also contributed to policies, authored a few publications and informally guided young organizations. She is member of a few significant education committees in India. Ramya holds a B.Tech. from IIT Delhi and an MBA from IIM Calcutta, and has received prestigious awards for leadership at both institutes.
Bindi works with Kaivalya Education Foundation as their program director for Technology. She recently graduated from Harvard Business School, with a focus in social enterprise and education. While in business school she worked with One Laptop per Child over summer and more recently did a project with Shiv Nadar Foundation. Her prior experience is in the space of engineering and operations with ArcelorMittal for 4 years. She has an engineering master from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor and bachelors in electronics and telecommunications engineering from Mumbai University.
Dr. Richa Govil is a business professional with experience in business strategy development and execution, at companies such as Bain & Company and Infosys Technologies. She served as President and Board Member for the non-profit Asha for Education and later as Director of Rural Innovation and Farming program at Ashoka India. Richa is a co-founder and faculty for CREAM (Course on Rural Entrepreneurship, Administration and Management), a condensed business management course for rural businesses and producer companies. Richa is now with the Azim Premji University, leading its distance learning programs and certificate courses for development sector. Richa holds a Ph.D. in Physics from University of California, at Berkeley, USA.
Rikin Gandhi is chief executive officer of Digital Green. Rikin’s interests include sustainable agriculture and technology for socioeconomic development. He co-founded Digital Green as a research project in Microsoft Research India’s Technology for Emerging Markets team and now leads the spin-off of Digital Green that works to amplify the effectiveness of agricultural development globally. Rikin is a licensed private pilot and received patents for linguistic search algorithms that he helped develop at Oracle. He has a master's in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor's in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University.
